Hello, my name is Augusto Murillo. I am a photographer for over 10 years and have been shooting in NYC and through South America. Recently, I worked with the Asian Pacific Center for Security Studies, a center that helps develop courses and bridges among the future leaders in the Asia Pacific Region. It came to my attention that this model should be shared among the local community. I have thought photography through my travels, giving everyone the keen eye of the observing storyteller, the photographer. Now, together with the ideas from the APCSS model, I have developed a leadership workshop through photography. It is a 4 day course that teaches the technical aspects of a camera, observation and framing. It is a breakdown of what we see everyday and the means to focus, develop a common language, and as a group find the outlet to respond with action on issues within a community, homes, or individuals. I very much look forward to the opportunity to help empower, educate and connect.
